| Seanodes Targets Wasted Space With New Virtualized Storage Tool
Seanodes' new product, Exanodes, is based on a concept similar to VMware Xen or Microsoft's Virtual Server, which aggregate and consolidate CPUs in application servers. Exanodes aggregates and consolidates storage devices in application servers. It does this by enabling a system's internal disks to be managed as a single shared storage pool. Legitimize trust in e-business with new Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificates. Securing the last mile
Many vendors also supported public-key digital certificates, using standards-based, or their own proprietary, certificate authorities. TimeStep took the digital certificate and certification authority scheme the most seriously with Permit Enterprise. The company includes a copy of Entrust's certificate authority and an X.500 directory in its enterprise management suite. With these tools, you're well armed. The combination produces a certificate authority and directory database configuration designed to scale to tens of thousands of users. Building a full system for creating, managing, securing and revoking digital certificates falls under the rubric of public-key infrastructure (PKI). The term "infrastructure" is chosen carefully because installing a PKI can be as difficult as any other part of your network infrastructure.

McFadden says he'll enter NFL, skipping senior season at Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.: Darren McFadden isn't sticking around for another run at the Heisman Trophy. The Arkansas All-American announced Monday he'll skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft. "When I was growing up, I dreamed of playing for the Razorbacks," McFadden said. "Now, the time has come for me to pursue another dream of mine — playing in the NFL." McFadden was the Heisman runner-up in 2006 and 2007, so his decision to turn pro wasn't surprising. He ran for 1,830 yards last season, second on the Southeastern Conference's single-season list. He is also second on the career list with 4,590 yards rushing. Felix Jones, the Razorbacks' other talented tailback, said he'll also enter the draft a year early. .
Do-it-yourself wine business gains following
Opening a business that is a little different from the norm can be a challenge for new entrepreneurs, but Ted Sellers and Scott Crippen seem to be handling it well. Sellers and Crippen openedWhatcom Winemakers about six months ago and have been steadily growing a customer base. The business at 130 E. Champion St. is a place where customers can come in, taste some wine and create their own blends and labels. Customers can make a batch of 30 bottles to either give away as gifts or stock their own cellars. "For most people, it's a chance to do something with a group of friends that's beyond the regular activities, like going out to the movies or to dinner," Sellers said. "It is very informal, and we try not to be too stuffy, especially when it comes to wine-tasting.
